feels like summer

button up skirt from japan, lux crochet swimsuit, thrifted cut-out oxfords

First off, I want to thank everyone for the comments about my room! Strangely enough, it is usually that clean (with the exception of a stray sweater here or there) thanks to my momma's constant nagging concerning the importance of living in a clean space. The calendar is a Stendig calendar from La Garçonne which I got using my Chic points from Chictopia!

Now that it's finally starting to look like June in the Bay Area, I wanted to try exposing some skin so I donned this one piece crochet swimsuit from UO with a slightly more conservative skirt. Maybe one day I'll post what the rest of the swimsuit looks like if I'm up to it. Or rather, if I actually find an excuse to wear it by itself. The beaches up here aren't exactly swimsuit-friendly and the closest thing we have to a pool is a kiddy one at my friends' house.

(And now, presenting a very poorly focused picture of me without make up. I don't know what hurts eyes more, the focus or my face!)

crispy clean

H&M blazer + silkblend top, black milk wax coated skinnies, vtg oscar de la renta scarf, bottega veneta clutch, prada booties

Didn't have time to post this here from Chictopia yesterday! Oops. Well, here it is now. If you haven't noticed already, Chictopia now has 400x600 pixel photos instead of the usual 300x350 so if you want a bigger version of something I've posted here, go to my Chictopia and find it there.

What is there to say about this outfit? Well, I tried to sell this blazer at some point but after problems with USPS it ended up in my hands again so I refunded the money and stuck with it. Is it meant to be? Probably. I wore this to do touristy things in the city while showing around my college-bound cousin and her family. Okay really, people, if you are going to travel to SF please DO NOT insist on riding the cable cars because they are overpriced pieces of $#*% which are hard to enjoy when you're packed like a sardine after waiting in line for an hour. Quintessential San Francisco? I think not. Do I smell a BLUSHING AMBITION GUIDE FOR EXPLORING SAN FRANCISCO? Chances are 70% will consist of food places while the other 30% will involve shopping which really isn't a problem since that's what my readers are interested in, right? Right.

(Pic totally unrelated but I'm really craving a strawberry macaron. Every time I look at anything pink I think about one.)

delicious!

casual in khaki

acne shirt, h&m pants, and heels

After seeing my picture in this post via Refinery 29, I decided to attempt another comfortably simple outfit centering around this pair of khaki pants from H&M. I wore this exact outfit once with low top chucks and upon running into an ex-friend, he asked "what's up, soccer mom?" Umm, thanks. Despite some initial hesitation, I put the outfit together again but this time replaced the chucks with t-strap heels and left one side untucked. Success? I'd like to think so.

The best part about this outfit is how comfortable and breezy the pants and shirt are. I'm not sure if these exact pants are still available at H&M but they definitely have some sort of variation at their stores right now. Go buy a pair now! In my opinion, they work best when cuffed and paired with heels to avoid looking frumpy.

(Chipped nails and unbrushed hair are a-ok with me! Well no, I need to curb my habits. Reminder to self: practice proper grooming.)

maximum joy

h&m maxi dress, anthropologie heels (not pictured)

Today was a surprisingly nice day. The weather in the Bay Area hasn't really reflected the fact that it's mid-June so it was nice to see some sun for a change. It gave me a chance to wear this cute floral maxi dress from H&M that is actually long enough to pass my ankles. The watercolor print goes amazingly well with the fabric and length although the amount of boobies that were exposed could be a bit too much at times. I did get three or so compliments from random strangers in the city though!

BF took me out for the best dim sum ever at Yank Sing in SF which was then followed by some shopping (mostly him) and people watching at Coffee Bean. Pika (I'm just going to call him what I usually do IRL, haha) bought a striped hooded Sabatino top from Barney's that I picked out and a loose orange tee from H&M. I wish I could go shopping but for now I'll live it up through him. Although he did offer to buy me something if I'm nice to him...

(On another note, why am I always happiest when my day centers around good food? True fatty status?)

smile!
I'm going to go ahead and post food porn anyway. So delish!

how to be a bad blogger

blargh
Calvin Klein vertical striped shirt, Lux pencil shirt

A mix of failed job searches, lack of inspiration, and sheer laziness can be attributed to my current state of listlessness and frugality. I go through these cycles where I get bored with everything around me and unfortunately my appearance suffers as a result. I usually turn to shopping as a good pick-me-up but I'm afraid I can't go on any shopping sprees until I have a paycheck coming in. I'm not too keen on the idea of going back home to Pasadena for the summer regardless of all the bribes my parents have put on the table and am trying my best to cope with the situation.

Until then, I've decided that I'm going to try to make the best of everything and turn to my existing possessions for inspiration rather than . I just completed a major overhaul of the contents of my closets and got rid of a ton of things I know I won't wear anymore. In the process I uncovered a ton of things I forgot I had ever purchased and will certainly incorporate into outfits in an attempt to combat this state of perpetual boredom.

PS. BUY MY MBMJ DRESS! The price is based off of previous offers but I'm turning to Lulu for a more organized transaction.
